So the update is this…
Either I am getting closer to getting myself a job, or I’m putting Professional Interviewer on my resume as a CURRENT JOB! lmao
Every job interview I go on, except the one on Monday and the one coming on Thursday, the employer isn’t hiring until after the first of the year and that’s only if the 4th quarter number support it economically!

And they think that the foreclosure rate is dropping – NEWS FLASH!!!… With the loan modifications, and the ‘hope’ program in housing created by the Administration, it is only preventing the inevitable which is FORECLOSURE since it takes an average of about 6+ months for someone to gain employment from having lost their job. The hope program only allows for about a month of no mortgage and the modification can give you three months… NOT ENOUGH WHEN THE AVERAGE WORKER IS OFF FROM THEIR JOB LONGER THAN THAT!
BUT,
THE RECESSION IS OVER!!!
So, as I was finally able to make contact with the individual that I interviewed with this morning, they were able to inform me that it was not in their hands at this time and for me to contact the individual that I had spoken with in the beginning! OK?! So, I left that person a voicemail and finally around 2 pm today I got an email that said they were still interviewing very highly qualified candidates that had much more experience than myself. Oh, and they were looking to make a decision by the week’s end and they would call me on Friday! OH, OH AND, thanks for your interest in wanting to work for our company!

Ok, and this leaves me WHERE? Who the hell knows, but I have done EVERYTHING I CAN AND MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE I’M SURE! If I don’t this get this job, it just isn’t where I need to be and considering how desperate I am… I am a firm believer that you are exactly where you are suppose to be – EXACTLY! Right now, I’m in the poor house!
I’m staying in prayer though that GOD will lead my path – I’ll just continue to follow!

During the last few months of this ‘job hunt’ process, I get more and more that folks are just putting out fillers – the positions aren’t certain and the hiring process is not even in the beginning phase. It’s a ‘just in case’ kinda job market!
I am determined that I will be JOBLESS! My resume is impeccable and my job history is grand…but NOTHING!
I actually had one potential employer tell me they threw my resume away because he figured he couldn’t afford me… HOW ABOUT LETTING ME BE THE JUDGE OF MY BUDGET, AND NOT YOU!
I’m tired. I’m SAD! And NO… the kids will NOT be dressing up for HALLOWEEN. Just trying to figure out now who to ask for Thanksgiving as the money won’t be here to fix for our family!
AND CHRISTMAS…. I can’t think about it!
I played by the rules. I’m a damn good person – often giving more than what I have to help out someone else… AND NOTHING!

So this morning I awoke to excitement that I had a ‘second’ interview with the company that I had interviewed with earlier in the week. I was prepared, quick to know my responses, and eager to meet! I arrived only to be informed that the interviewer was tied up at the moment and so 20 minutes later we met! Then he spoke for about 12 minutes explaining the difficulties of the job, then went and made a copy of a 12 page article regarding the ‘sales’ tactics in the industry. He apologized that he didn’t have anymore time for meeting with me, as he was busy, but would like for me to read over the literature that he had provided and give him a call back on Monday with my thoughts!
Somewhat perplexed over the situation, I found myself a bit ‘pissed’ on the way home. Here I had driven 30 minutes, had put on my best, left the kids at the house to take care of themselves (they’re out of school for fall holiday), and not only did I have to WAIT on him, but my interview ended up being a talking to of sorts with a damn homework reading assignment that was intermediate at best!
Needless to say, I sent off my response to him and his boss on my thoughts for the reading assignment AS SOON AS I GOT IN. I followed up with, looking forward to speaking with you on Monday morning!
Come on! You scheduled the interview for a time that would be convenient for you (my request for his convenient time) and ‘sorry I don’t have time’. What the hell? What do you think my time is worth? Apparently ZERO! And then you send me home with a bogus reading assignment? I’m sure he was very busy. And he seemed like a nice guy and all, but WTF? Please, don’t bother scheduling an interview if you don’t have the time. Please, if you do schedule an interview only to find out that day that you will not have the time to meet – RESCHEDULE! This is NUTS!
I am not usually one without words, but honest to goodness, I have seen and heard it all during these last few weeks with interviews. I’m so overwhelmed with the whole thing that if I didn’t have to have a JOB in order to provide for my family, I WOULD TAKE THE NEXT 6 MONTHS OFF TO DETOX FROM THE BULLSHIT OF EMPLOYERS!
I would think if an employer treated someone like that then they had no intention of having them work there- FINE! But if you do this kind of stuff and don’t have that intention, here’s how thats viewed:
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING, YOU COMPANY IS MISMANAGED, YOU GIVE NO RESPECT TO ANYONE, COMMON COURTESY IS NOT COMMON COMPANY POLICY!
Now, how do you think future employees will view you? The mouth is a powerful tool; especially when it has nothing GOOD TO SAY!
WOW!!! I don’t write to get ‘hits’. I write so I can release my frustrations. However, prior to yesterday, I would think ‘Wow, 7 people read my post’! YESTERDAY… I guess I struck a nerve or something… who knows? However, I had 221 HITS ON MY POST! Most on the ‘Economy’, ‘Keving Jennings’, and my squirrel story -’Breaking news’! What I found most interesting is when folks ‘disagree’ with what you say, or ‘hate’ it, they typically have A LOT TO SAY, but NO BAD COMMENTS! Guess maybe my thoughts and frustrations are not in the minority group of Americans! That is HOPE!
I figured I would take the time to allow for my truth to set me FREE… I do have a ‘background’ in a lot of what our Nation is facing!
I am 30 ‘something’, I am a mother of 3 amazing children, I am a wife to my husband of 12 yrs, and my personal story is one that seems to be about the same of every third household! My husband was laid off on his birthday at the beginning of this year from a very lucrative career in Energy. I had to leave my career in Real Estate two years ago because of the obvious instability in the market and the massive decline in sales. Money had been tight this year and unemployment is $300.00 per week! The cobra plan they sent from my husband’s employer was around $700.00 per month…and we just had to hold onto to a hope and prayer that none of us would get sick! God answers prayers! He was out of a job for 5 months and I had been sending out resume after resume since August of the previous year and NOTHING! I finally, shortly after he had been laid off, got a job with a lending firm! Refinancing was booming right? NOT TRUE! Lending was very difficult and to be paid was even more of a hardship…working 60 hrs a week and getting paid minimal money ($1200.00) for 6 weeks was worse than the unemployment pay! I left that job – and not because of the ‘lending’ hardships, but due to FRUAD of the owner that I had discovered and decided that I couldn’t allow anyone to be hurt! I took the side of the clients, left my job on my own and have NO REGRETS. Ofcourse, the business has changed ‘names’ and is still be ran by the same people still making money while I’m in the line at the food pantry. They still owe me $500.00 but I was told ‘GOOD LUCK’ with getting that money! The food pantry only gives you ONE bag of food – not enough to feed a family of 6 – yes, 6! My mother lives with us too… she can’t take care of herself due to her body finally starting to fail her. I finally found an insurance coverage for her. We have applied for disability, which the initial exam they sent her to was a JOKE! She has her food stamps now – $200.00 per month! Good thing she doesn’t require a lot of food or any special food items! I tried to apply for food stamps and was turned down. My mortgage is $1000.00 per month – our GROSS income is $3200.00 per month – our utilities, insurance and car payments come to about $1100.00 per month, BUT WE MAKE TOO MUCH! My husband finally landed a job after 5 months but of course employers can pay the desperate anything really at this point – when your hungry, when you have kids – you don’t have any room to ‘negotiate’ – especially when there’s no one else offering you employment. I have been formerly unemployed since the end of July. I finally got angry this week and called those folks I had sent my resume to and said ‘WHY’, ‘WHY DID I NOT GET A CALL’? I ended up with 3 interviews that day due to my tenacity, and had a call back for a second with one of those groups for tomorrow morning. What’s the worst thing that can happen… they can say ‘NO’?! Who cares, I’m a mom – that word is mute to my ears! So, the truth is this… my family has fought hard and we have played by the rules – but out of left field, the game changed and we found ourselves burdened with STRESS. I didn’t take my kids to the community fair this year… I couldn’t afford to! I worry about Halloween… if it were tomorrow, I couldn’t afford a costume pre made or homemade! We have been very open with our children – and yeah, they’ve been sad over not having much. But not once have they complained that all they had to eat was a PB& J for dinner. We are all together – we are a family – THAT’S WHAT MATTERS!
It makes me ANGRY that the White House says they stand for ‘hope’ and that the recession is OVER! Foreclosure numbers have risen again… but hey, it’s ok…. IT’S ALL GOOD! My friends, some are well, and some are NO DIFFERENT THAN MY FAMILY!!! My bone’s ache, my heart hurts – I don’t want anyone to SAVE ME… I just want to be able to HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SAVE MYSELF!!! But even that seems impossible!
This is OUR STORY! It’s the new AMERICAN STORY! Will we have the ‘opportunity’ to end this book on our terms or will we forced to have it written by someone else?

This morning I had to step out and pick up some much needed items ‘essential’ for our family. If the dark sky of the early morning and the downfall of the rain was not ‘GLOOM’ enough, the drive into the parking lot of the shopping center was plenty! I couldn’t help but notice the stores that were DARK AND EMPTY! Out of the 9 that had previously called this strip mall home, was now more like a ghost town! Only one store was still open – only one store had customers!
In order to get the picture to my simple, ‘ONE STOP SHOPPING’, I must let you know the items on my list!
Bread, mustard, tea bags, dog food, and at least one pair of Jeans or a few pair of ‘sports’ pants for my son (as the weather has all out become a bit chilly for shorts some days, the poor kid had obviously grown 4-6 inches in height, and at least 2 inches in the waist from last yr.’s ‘cold weather’ clothing selection – Thank goodness the shirts and jacket from last year still fit!!!)
So, this ONE STORE offered everything on my list and I should be so thankful, but sticker shock was in full force! There wasn’t ANYTHING on the list that I COULDN’T NOT get! I debated how important each item was and the NEED! Had to have bread and mustard for lunch box sandwiches – Tea bags – well, it is the cheapest drink other than tap water (bottled water waaaayyyy too much) – dog food, I suppose I could give them a piece of bread – and the Long Pants…. hhhhmmmm….my brain was in overload mode! He had to have long pants – he has a field trip tomorrow and the high temperature is only 42 – and the ‘trip’ is to the Pumpkin Farm – I could not send him but that’s enough guilt to make you feel suicidal! My thought then turned to, ‘which bill do I NOT PAY this week’? An otherwise, quick trip, of minimal expense took entirely too long and the COST was more than my emotions could bare!

I know that any other time the cost would have been, BREAD – $2.39, PANTS – $15.00, DOG FOOD – $3.89, MUSTARD – $1.18, TEA BAGS -$0.99- WHAT IN THE WORLD HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS SLEEPING?
I’m am sure your thinking – ‘WHERE DO YOU LIVE’, ‘WHAT STORE WERE YOU SHOPPING’, OR ‘WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE’?
So please, let me explain… I live in, ‘SMALL TOWN USA’! As for the name of the shopping center and why I didn’t go anywhere else is SIMPLE – it’s the same store anywhere I go… even right there, around the corner from YOUR HOME! There ISN’T ANY OTHER CHOICE! Competition in the ‘market’ of anything doesn’t EXIST – IT’S THE BIG ECONOMICAL REFORM – ONE STOP SHOPPING!!!
THIS IS NOT A REAL SITUATION – OR AT LEAST NOT YET!!! I don’t know how to make it any more simple folks…. if the government has their way, this IS how we will all live! And the ‘healthcare reform’ is the FIRST INITIALIZATION to this process! I know all the ‘language’ Washington uses these days is confusing… but SIMPLE COMMON SENSE, should NOT be that hard! ‘Free choice’ is one of the FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS IN THE UNITED STATES – IT’S WHAT MAKES IT THE GREATEST LAND EVER! Seems these days, TIMES ARE CHANGING and ‘free choice’ is headed into ‘NO CHOICE, AND VERY EXPENSIVE’!

As a 30 something in the field of Education, he had a 15 year old student confide in him that he (the 15 yr old) was having sex with adults in random places and meetings in random places like the bus station. Mr. Jennings advised this young man to make sure he was using a condom!

Ok, so it’s no big surprise that I have a VERY weak stomach! I can catch vomit in my hands, but only if it’s my KIDS! Recently, myself and my little one was running around in the front yard and BOOM! Random animals, not ours, brings random poo! Its was all I had in me to hop into the house, into the shower and rinse! I immediately vomited! Bless the heart of the child…. his daddy rinsed his foot and that should have been it!
The child was floored that mommy just puked after stepping in random poo! Very nervously, he asked his dad, ‘if you step in poo, do you get sick’? Dad being dad said, ‘YES SON’! For the next hour, I listened to the child whimper and cry out in his room sick to death! I finally just couldn’t take his whining anymore! When I finally figured out what was going on, it took days to repair!
The child was initially MISUNDERSTOOD, MISEXPLAINED TOO!
IF YOU STEP IN SHIT, YOU WILL BE SICK!
For days afterwards he was certain that he could just start vomiting at any moment! For the kid who is deathly afraid of any form of ‘sickness’, as funny as it was, it was hell to have to recover from! The husband is now banned from answering ‘random’ questions!
